Obtaining Excalibur brings about the appearance of the wizard Merlin (Patrick Stewart) who claims Alex is a new king who must take on the evil sorcerer Morgana (Rebecca Ferguson), before she takes over the world.

Alex, in his fight against Morgana and her dark forces, enlists the help of his friends from school to form the Knights of the Round Table.

"With the future at stake, Alex must become the great leader he never dreamed he could be," reads the synopsis.

The Kid Who Would Be King, from director Joe Cornish (Attack the Block), is set to arrive in theaters on Jan. 25.
