'Aquaman' tops the North American box office with $67.4M

Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Jason Momoa's superhero adventure Aquaman is the No. 1 movie in North America, earning $67.4 million in receipts during its opening weekend, BoxOfficeMojo.com announced Sunday.

Coming in at No. 2 is Mary Poppins Returns with $22.2 million, followed by Bumblebee at No. 3 with $21 million, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse at No. 4 with $16.7 million and The Mule at No. 5 with $10 million.

Rounding out the top tier are Dr. Seuss's The Grinch at No. 6 with $8.2 million, Second Act at No. 7 with $6.5 million, Ralph Breaks the Internet at No. 8 with $4.6 million, Welcome to Marwen at No. 9 with $2.4 million and Mary Queen of Scots at No. 10 with $2.2 million.
