Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot congratulated Jason Momoa on Instagram for his work on Aquaman following the film's premiere in Los Angeles.

"I remember filming BvS and Jason had just gotten casted as Aquaman. He came in for a makeup test in Michigan and we were sitting in a room, just talking about what the future would bring, how crazy that little ol us were casted as these iconic characters." Gadot said on Thursday alongside a poster for Aquaman and a photo featuring Momoa and his co-stars Nicole Kidman and Amber Heard.

"Little did we know years later what our characters would become...I'm so so happy and proud of you Jason!" she continued before mentioning Kidman, Heard and the film's director James Wan.

"My water sister Amber. And Nicole mother of all Seven Seas. And James, so happy for you man!! Can't wait to watch it! From one DCEU family to another. Congrats."

Aquaman is the latest entry in the DC Extended Universe. The film is set to arrive in theaters on Dec. 21.

Momoa first made a cameo appearance as the king of Atlantis in 2016's Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice which prominently featured Gadot as Wonder Woman. The pair then teamed up together in 2017's Justice League.

Gadot will be seen once again as the super heroine in Wonder Woman 1984, set to arrive in theaters on June 5, 2020.
