Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Brie Larson enters into a galactic conflict in the latest trailer for Marvel's next comic book epic, Captain Marvel.

The clip, released Monday, explores Captain Marvel's origins and how she was recruited and given powers by an alien race of noble warrior heroes known as the Kree following a crash landing in a fighter jet.

Captain Marvel, after returning to earth and working with Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury, continues to have flashbacks about her former life.

The titular hero then finds herself having to protect earth from the Skrulls, a villainous alien race who is at war with the Kree and who can disguise themselves as ordinary people. Captain Marvel leaps into action and battles a Kree disguised as an old woman on a train.

"I'm not going to fight your war, I'm gonna end it," she says before powering up and flying into space to destroy a number of spacecrafts.

Captain Marvel, from directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, is set to arrive in theaters on March 8. Jude Law, Gemma Chan, Annette Bening and Ben Mendelsohn -- as the film's villain -- also star. Djimon Hounsou and Lee Pace will be featured, reprising their villainous roles from Guardians of the Galaxy.
