"I warn you boy. You are not prepared for the truth behind what you seek. Now you will believe," a narrator says as Artemis witnesses an elderly woman suddenly turn young again.

The film is based on the children's novel series of the same name by author Eoin Colfer that follows 12-year-old Artemis as he finds himself in a battle against a hidden race of fairies who may be behind his father's disappearance.

Kenneth Branagh is directing from a script by Conor McPherson. Lara McDonnell, Tamara Smart, Josh Gad and Judi Dench are also set to star.

Artemis Fowl is set to arrive in theaters on Aug. 9, 2019.
