Margot Robbie posts full, lengthy title for 'Birds of Prey'

Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Margot Robbie showcased on Instagram that her upcoming DC Comics team up film Birds of Prey is officially titled, Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).

Robbie announced the title by posting a photo of the film's a script on Tuesday. The script featured the lengthy title written out in pen.

The Hollywood Reporter also confirmed the project's new title.

Robbie is producing Birds of Prey and is set to reprise her role as Batman villain Harley Quinn. The character, last seen with The Joker in 2016's Suicide Squad, will be teaming up with Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and Gotham City detective Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez) to take down crime lord Black Mask, set to be portrayed by Ewan McGregor.

Ella Jay Basco is also set to star as Cassandra Cain, a character that took up the mantle of Batgirl in the pages of DC Comics.

Cathy Yan is directing based off a script by Christina Hodson. Yan is a former Wall Street Journal reporter who made her feature film debut at the Sundance Film Festival with Dead Pigs. She will be the first Asian woman to ever direct a superhero film.

Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is set to arrive in theaters on Feb. 7, 2020.
