Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Niecy Nash and Courtney B. Vance are set to star in an upcoming Netflix film titled Uncorked from Insecure showrunner Prentice Penny.

Uncorked, written, directed and produced by Penny, will follow a young man played by Mamoudou Athie whose love of wine drives him to pursue a career as a master sommelier despite his father wanting him to take over the family barbecue business.

Datari Turner, Chris Pollack, Jason Michael Berman, Jill Ahrens, Ryan Ahrens, Ben Renzo are also producing, with Patrick Raymond and Veronica Nickel serving as executive producers. NBA stars Tony Parker and Michael Finley are co-executive producers alongside NFL stars Drew Brees and Derrick Brooks.

Production is set to begin in Memphis on Nov. 10 with filming also set to take place in Paris. Nash and Vance's roles in the film are being kept under wraps.

"It's rare that black people get to tell a father-son story without the father's absence serving as the catalyst for the story. That was never my experience, and I think it's more important than ever that art reflects our humanity and who we are as regular people, rather than just being defined by the color of our skin or the trauma that has happened to us," Penny said in a statement.
