Russell Crowe to narrate 'Turtle Odyssey 3D'

June 17 (UPI) -- Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe has signed on to narrate the documentary Turtle Odyssey 3D, SK Films announced.

"Turtle Odyssey 3D explores the unique lifecycle of an Australian green sea turtle named Bunji and her incredible journey across the open ocean," a synopsis said. "The film follows Bunji the green sea turtle from a hatchling into adulthood as she swims thousands of miles, meets incredible creatures and has some really wild encounters. She will eventually migrate, with mysterious precision, back to the very beach where she was born -- to lay her own eggs that are the foundation of the next generation."

The movie is to be released this summer in select museums, science centers and IMAX theaters.

Crowe's credits include L.A. Confidential, Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind, American Gangster, Cinderella Man and Les Miserables. The 54-year-old actor was born in New Zealand.
