John Travolta, Kelly Preston cozy up at 'Gotti' premiere

June 15 (UPI) -- Celebrity couple John Travolta and Kelly Preston cozied up on the red carpet Thursday.

The 64-year-old actor and 55-year-old actress attended the New York premiere of their movie Gotti, a new biopic about late New York mobster John Gotti and his son, John Gotti, Jr.

Travolta and Preston play Gotti and his wife, Victoria Gotti, in the film. The actor wore a maroon jacket with a black shirt and pants, while Preston sported a pink, floral print gown.

Travolta and Preston were joined by John Gotti, Jr., and his sister, Victoria Gotti. John Gotti, Jr., praised Travolta in an interview this week while comparing Gotti to a previous movie starring Armand Assante as his dad.

"Armand did a great job and John did a better job," he told Variety. "He nailed the body language and he owns the room in his scenes."

Gotti is directed by Kevin Connolly and opens in theaters Friday, June 15. Travolta and Preston told Variety in May they connected to the film by drawing parallels to their own marriage.

"You want to bring the longevity, the closeness, the familiarity, and [that] comfort that you just know each other so well," Preston said. "They loved their family. They both loved their kids."

Travolta and Preston married in September 1991, and have two children, Ella and Benjamin.
