June 5 (UPI) -- Hailee Steinfeld discovers that her car is a Transformer in the first teaser trailer for upcoming origin film, Bumblebee. The clip, released Tuesday, takes place in 1987 before the original Transformers films take place and features Steinfeld meeting Bumblebee after the robot stops disguising himself as her Volkswagen Beetle.

"Every adventure has a beginning," the trailer states as Bumblebee is seen in action and learning to become a hero as he stops a crashed helicopter.
WWE Superstar John Cena, who also stars in the film, is featured briefly as a military-type character.
"You got people out there who need you, this is why you're here Bee," Steinfeld says to Bumblebee.
Bumblebee, from director Travis Knight (Kubo And The Two Strings), is set to release in theaters this Christmas. Jorge Lendeborg Jr, John Ortiz, Jason Drucker, Pamela Adlon and Stephen Schneider are also set to star.
