March 8 (UPI) -- Michael B. Jordan has announced on Instagram that his production company Outlier Society will be adopting inclusion riders -- a type of diversity clause -- on all future projects.
Inclusion riders are a clause in a contract that requires studios to hire a diverse crew and/or cast on a particular project, noted The Hollywood Reporter. The contract addendum was first proposed by Stacy Smith, a professor at the University of Southern California and has gained traction after Frances McDormand mentioned the idea during her acceptance speech at the Academy Awards on Sunday.
