Jan. 31 (UPI) -- Jamie Dornan says Fifty Shades Freed feels like a "thriller" in some aspects.

The 35-year-old actor, who plays Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades films, said on Wednesday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show that the third and final movie "feels like a different kind of genre."

"Obviously, there's still sex in it. There's people who want to see sex, it seems, so we kept a fair amount [in the film]," Dornan told host Ellen DeGeneres. "But, there's definitely a thriller aspect to this one."

"There's really fun car chases, and someone gets kidnapped," he shared. "There's a lot happening this time."

The Fifty Shades films are based on the E.L. James erotic novel trilogy of the same name. Dornan, who previously portrayed Gray in Fifty Shades of Grey and Fifty Shades Darker, said fans often approach him as if he actually is the character.

"I get a lot of fans talking to me as if I am Christian Grey," the actor said. "I'll be in line at, like, Starbucks or something and someone will be like, 'Oh, Mr. Grey' ... [or] saying very specific things from the books or the movies."

"I panic. I just don't know how to respond to it because I'm not, like, him, obviously, so I'm always there just sort of panicking," he added. "They probably just think I'm really weird, which I'm fine with."

The Fifty Shades films co-star Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele. The movie released a new trailer this month featuring a number of intense scenes, including Jack Hyde's (Eric Johnson) return and Ana discovering she's pregnant.
