'Fifty Shades Freed': Ana learns she's pregnant in new trailer

The third and final "Fifty Shades" movie will open in theaters in February.

Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Fifty Shades Freed teases a big surprise for Ana in a newly released trailer.

The preview shows Ana (Dakota Johnson) and Christian (Jamie Dornan) attempt to build their life as a married couple while facing threats from their past, including Jack Hyde (Eric Johnson) and Elena Lincoln (Kim Basinger).

The trailer ends with Ana receiving news that she's expecting a child. It is unclear if the plot point will follow the same storyline in E.L. James' Fifty Shades book trilogy, which the Fifty Shades movies are based on.

Fifty Shades Freed was preceded by 2015's Fifty Shades of Grey and 2017's Fifty Shades Darker. The film co-stars Arielle Kebbel, Luke Grimes and Rita Ora, and will open in theaters Feb. 9.

Ora, who plays Mia Grey, teased a collaboration with One Direction singer Liam Payne for the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack in December. Payne's former bandmate Zayn Malik previously released a song with Taylor Swift for Fifty Shades Darker.
