Tiffany Haddish thanks Jada Pinkett Smith after Golden Globe remarks

Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Tiffany Haddish is thankful for Jada Pinkett Smith's support amid a controversy about the 2018 Golden Globe Awards nominations.

The 38-year-old actress voiced her gratitude in a tweet Wednesday after Smith slammed the annual awards show for not including Haddish and their movie Girls Trip among the nominees.

"Thank all of y'all for your love and support, I don't know or care much about snubs because I'm not nasty like that!! But I love my girl Jada and I love all of you! @jadapsmith @VanityFair #SHEREADY," she wrote.

Smith called out the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which conducts the Golden Globes ceremonies, in a series of tweets Tuesday, claiming the organization didn't even watch the film. She said Haddish and Girls Trip weren't nominated because of underlying "racism."

"Girls Trip was one of the most successful films this summer & Tiff was hands down the funniest person on screen in 2017 and we couldn't get eyes on the film or a press conference. How could a nom happen & how much more critical acclaim must a movie have to simply get a screening?" the 46-year-old actress wrote.

"Hollywood has systems in place that must learn to expand its concepts of race, gender equality and inclusion in regard to its perceptions of art across the board," she added.

Girls Trip stars Haddish, Smith, Regina Hall and Queen Latifah as four friends who travel to New Orleans. The movie received positive reviews, with many praising Haddish's performance, and earned over $138 million at the box office.

Haddish is also known appearing on Real Husbands of Hollywood and for playing Nekeisha on The Carmichael Show. She will star in a number of upcoming films, including Night School with Kevin Hart.
