'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' premieres in LA

Dec. 10 (UPI) -- The cast members of Star Wars: The Last Jedi attended the premiere of the blockbuster-to-be in Los Angeles Saturday night.

Walking the red carpet were Mark Hamill, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Lupita Nyong'o, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, Peter Mayhew, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Benicio del Toro.

Billie Lourd, the only child of late Star Wars icon Carrie Fisher, also attended the event. Fisher, who will be seen in The Last Jedi in her final performance as General Leia, died Dec. 27, 2016 at the age of 60.

The film is to open in theaters Friday. It will follow Ridley's Rey as she joins Leia, Hamill's Luke Skywalker, Boyega's Finn and Oscar Isaac's Poe on an adventure to unlock the mysteries of the Force.
