'A Wrinkle in Time' new trailer journeys though space and time

Nov. 20 (UPI) -- A young girl (Storm Reid) searches for her father (Chris Pine) through space and time in the new trailer for Disney's upcoming fantasy adventure, A Wrinkle in Time.

The clip, released Sunday during the American Music Awards, also features Oprah Winfrey, Mindy Kaling, and Reese Witherspoon as celestial beings Mrs. Which, Mrs. Who and Mrs. Whatsit as they help Reid on her journey.

"Your father is trapped by evil energy," Winfrey explains to Reid and her companions played by Levi Miller and Deric McCabe. "And the only one who can stop it, is you," she continues.

"From visionary director Ava DuVernay comes Disney's A Wrinkle in Time, an epic adventure based on Madeleine L'Engle's timeless classic which takes audiences across dimensions of time and space, examining the nature of darkness versus light and, ultimately, the triumph of love," reads the synopsis. "Through one girl's transformative journey led by three celestial guides, we discover that strength comes from embracing one's individuality and that the best way to triumph over fear is to travel by one's own light."

A Wrinkle in Time which arrives in theaters on March 9, also stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Pena, Andre Holland, Rowan Blanchard, and Zach Galifianakis.
