Zachary Levi to star in New Line movie 'Shazam!'

Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Chuck and Heroes Reborn alum Zachary Levi signed on to star in the big-screen, comic-book adaptation Shazam!

David F. Sandberg, who is directing the film for New Line, tweeted a link to The Hollywood Reporter's article about the casting news, but Sandberg did not comment further on it.

Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke are writing the screenplay for Shazam!, which is expected to start filming in Toronto this February.

Sandberg's credits include the horror blockbusters Lights Out and Annabelle: Creation.

Levi will soon be seen playing a supporting role in Thor: Ragnarok.
