'The Star' trailer offers animated look at the first Christmas

Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Sony Animation released the first trailer for The Star, its animated retelling of the biblical story of the first Christmas.

The trailer follows a group of talking animals, including Walking Dead Star Steven Yeun as a Donkey named Bo, and their roles surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ.

"‪This holiday season, witness the story of the first Christmas...through a whole new set of eyes," Sony Animation said.

Gina Rodriguez, Zachary Levi, Keegan-Michael Key, Kelly Clarkson, Anthony Anderson, Kris Kristofferson, Ving Rhames Tracy Morgan, Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey will also appear as voices in the field.

The Star is set to release in theaters on Nov. 17.
