Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Dylan O'Brien is back as Thomas in the first trailer for the last entry in the Maze Runner series, Maze Runner: The Death Cure.

In search of a cure for the disease known as The Flare, O'Brien and his crew will finally learn the reason behind their arrival in the maze.

"In the epic finale to the Maze Runner saga, Thomas leads his group of escaped Gladers on their final and most dangerous mission yet. To save their friends, they must break into the legendary Last City, a WCKD-controlled labyrinth that may turn out to be the deadliest maze of all. Anyone who makes it out alive will get answers to the questions the Gladers have been asking since they first arrived in the maze," reads the synopsis.

The Death Cure, from director Wes Ball, also stars Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Katherine McNamara, Nathalie Emmanuel, Rosa Salazar, Patricia Clarkson, Barry Pepper, Giancarlo Esposito, and Walton Goggins.
