'The Hitman's Bodyguard' tops the North American box office with $21.6M

Aug. 20 (UPI) -- The Samuel L. Jackson-Ryan Reynolds action comedy The Hitman's Bodyguard is the No. 1 movie in North America this weekend, earning $21.6 million in receipts, BoxOfficeMojo.com announced Sunday.

Coming in at No. 2 is Annabelle: Creation at No. 2 with $15.5 million, followed by Logan Lucky at No. 3 with $8 million, Dunkirk at No. 4 with $6.7 million and The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature at No. 5 with $5.1 million.

Rounding out the top tier are The Emoji Movie at No. 6 with $4.4 million, Spider-Man: Homecoming at No. 7 with $4.3 million, Girls Trip at No. 8 with $3.8 million, The Dark Tower at No. 9 with $3.7 million and Wind River at No. 10 with $3 million.
