July 27 (UPI) -- Director Ron Howard says he is working with actor Warwick Davis on the Han Solo standalone movie more than 30 years after they collaborated on the fantasy film, Willow.

"Ok, so now that you're back in the Lucasfilm saddle. When are we getting that Willow sequel?" a fan asked Howard via Twitter Wednesday.

"Glad you are asking for one! I directed @WarwickADavis for the 1st time in 30 years today. It made me happy," Howard replied.

Howard took over the helm of the Star Wars spinoff last month after co-directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller left due to creative differences with the studio.

Davis has played various roles in the Star Wars franchise, including the Ewok Wicket, Weazel, Wollivan and Weeteef Cyubee. It is unclear who he will play in the Han Solo film, which stars Alden Ehrenreich as a younger version of the iconic, intergalactic smuggler Harrison Ford played in four Star Wars blockbusters.

Willow, which co-starred Val Kilmer, was released in theaters in 1988. It was produced and featured a story by Star Wars creator George Lucas.
