June 29 (UPI) -- Hannibal Buress sent an imposter in his place to attend the Hollywood premiere of Spider-Man: Homecoming.

"L.A. I need a lookalike with solid comedic timing for an event tonight. Pays $500. Email pics to [email protected]," the comedian wrote Wednesday in a now deleted tweet, Entertainment Weekly reported.

Then during the premiere which was live-streamed on YouTube, a man identified as Buress but clearly someone else, walked the red carpet and gave interviews concerning his role in the superhero epic.

"I'm out here at the @SpiderManMovie premiere," Buress wrote alongside a photo of his doppelganger who attended the event wearing sunglasses.

In replying to Entertainment Weekly's article on the switcheroo, Buress wrote on Twitter, "It's called extreme FOMO," which refers to the fear of missing out on something.

Buress was cast in Homecoming in June 2016. In the film, he portrays Coach Wilson, a gym teacher at Peter Parker's (Tom Holland) high-school.
