June 27 (UPI) -- Zac Efron and Zendaya gave fans a first glimpse of The Greatest Showman trailer Tuesday.

The 29-year-old actor and 20-year-old actress shared clips of themselves performing trapeze stunts in the new film starring Hugh Jackman.

"Thanks @Zendaya! @pasekandpaul, here's the @GreatestShowman #TrailerTrapeze. Catch!" Efron tweeted to his 13.7 million followers.

"Got it, @RealHughJackman! @GreatestShowman #TrailerTrapeze, coming your way, @ZacEfron!" Zendaya wrote on her own account.

Jackman himself posted a clip of his character striding along the outskirts of a circus arena, writing, "It's a #TrapezeTrailer - @GreatestShowman style. Over to you @Zendaya!"

The Greatest Showman stars Jackman as P.T. Barnum, who founded the Barnum & Bailey Circus in the 1800s. The movie musical is directed by Michael Gracey, and co-stars Michelle Williams and Rebecca Ferguson.

"We were clear from the beginning that this wouldn't feel like a period movie or a historical piece," Jackman said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly published in May.

"What would Barnum do now? I have an almost-12-year-old daughter. I wanted [the film] to be as exciting for her as listening to Katy Perry's new song," the actor added.

The Greatest Showman opens in theaters Dec. 25. The movie will release a first full-length trailer Wednesday.
