May 24 (UPI) -- Salma Hayek debuted ombré hair on the red carpet Tuesday.

The 50-year-old actress showed off her new, lighter tresses at the 2017 Cannes International Film Festival anniversary soirée in Cannes, France, after wearing a pink wig earlier in the week.

Hayek attended the party with her husband, French businessman Francois-Henri Pinault. She turned heads in a blue Gucci dress with a Peter Pan collar and colorful embellishment.

The How to Be a Latin Lover star had surprised fans Sunday by wearing pink hair to the Women in Motion Awards. The event was hosted by Pinault's luxury goods holding company, Kering.

"It's a wig," the actress said at the ceremony, according to WWD. "The inspiration is very easy: I was bored."

"Having your hair up all the time, it's very tiring and boring," she added. "I said I needed short hair for this dress, so my hair stylist Jennifer Yepez, who is a genius, came up with this wig."

Hayek shared a photo on Instagram of her rose gold locks ahead of the awards dinner.
