May 12 (UPI) -- Charlie Hunnam addressed rumors that he's next line to portray British film spy James Bond Thursday on Conan.

"I can say two things," the actor said to host Conan O'Brien when asked about potentially taking over the role. "I'm English and I look devilishly handsome in a suit."

"I can say three things," the Sons of Anarchy alum then continued. "Nobody has called me about playing James Bond, so I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen."

O'Brien then himself joked that he's constantly being bothered to play Bond to which Hunnam replied, "If you decide not do it, you could just throw your old pal Charlie's name in the hat."

A number of actors including Jamie Bell, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba and Tom Hardy have been rumored to be taking on the role of James Bond after current star Daniel Craig mentioned in 2015 that he would rather "slash his wrists" than make another 007 film.

Craig changed his tune however in October 2016 stating "Boo-hoo. It's a good gig. I enjoy it."

Hunnam can now be seen in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword which arrived in theaters Friday. Recently the 37-year-old shared that his dream is to one day direct.
