March 16 (UPI) -- Voice from the Stone released a creepy first trailer starring Emilia Clarke this week.

The 30-year-old English actress plays Verena, a nurse tasked with helping a troubled boy (Edward George Dring) after his mother's death from a mysterious illness.

Voice from the Stone is based on the novel of the same name by Silvio Raffo, which is set in 1950s Tuscany. The movie co-stars Lord of the Rings actor Marton Csokas, and is directed by Eric D. Howell.

"Oh, man, the castle we filmed in was scary. I don't believe in ghosts but if there was anything to make me question that, it was shooting there at night," Clarke told USA Today.

"[The house's hold on Verena is] mixed in with all of the loneliness she has felt in her life as a nurse who is always moving from one family to another," she added. "It seems that happiness is only a family away."

Voice from the Stone opens in select theaters and on video on demand April 28. Clarke is best known for playing Daenerys Targaryen on the HBO series Game of Thrones, which will premiere a seventh season July 16.
