Michael K. Williams to co-star in Han Solo standalone movie

March 6 (UPI) -- The Wire and Boardwalk Empire alum Michael Kenneth Williams is to co-star in the upcoming, untitled Han Solo Star Wars movie.

No details about Williams' character or plot line were immediately released.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are directing the space adventure, which will be released in theaters on May 25, 2018.

Alden Ehrenreich is playing the younger version of Han Solo, the iconic character Harrison Ford portrayed in four Star Wars pictures.

The new, standalone, Han Solo project takes place in between Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The 2018 movie will also feature Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Joonas Suotamo.
