Kurt Russell appears in new 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' trailer

March 1 (UPI) -- Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) meets his father in the latest trailer for Marvel's upcoming sci-fi epic, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

The clip released Tuesday during Jimmy Kimmel Live! ends with Russell making a grand entrance to Star-Lord and his teammates Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and a handcuffed Nebula (Karen Gillan).

"After all these years I've found you," Russell says to Pratt. "I'm your dad, Peter."

The trailer set to Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain," also includes scenes featuring Baby Groot (Vin Diesel) moving about a spaceship after not putting on a seatbelt and Yondu (Michael Rooker) and newcomer Mantis (Pom Klementieff) working together with the team.

"All you do is yell at each other, you are not friends," Nebula notes to the team before Drax responds, "No we're family."

Directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 arrives in theaters May 5, 2017.

Gunn shared a new colorful poster of the film on Twitter Tuesday featuring all the major characters and Pratt holding up a new mixtape that will contain the films new soundtrack. "Because we love you," the filmmaker captioned the post.
