Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Will Smith patrols the streets as an LAPD cop in the first teaser trailer for Netflix's upcoming fantasy thriller, Bright.

The 30-second clip released Sunday during the Oscars telecast features the actor wielding a sword, an Orc with a shotgun and a host of other fantastical looking characters as "This Land Is Your Land" plays on in the background.

"I'm assuming this doesn't end well," Smith says at the end of the footage.

"Set in a world where mystical creatures live side by side with humans. A human cop is forced to work with an Orc to find a weapon everyone is prepared to kill for," reads the synopsis.

Bright is directed by David Ayer, who worked with Smith on Suicide Squad, and written by Max Landis (Chronicle, American Ultra). Joel Edgerton also stars in the series, set to hit Netflix in December.
