Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Ryan Gosling brought his sister as his date to the 2017 Oscars ceremony Sunday. The 36-year-old actor took elder sibling Mandi Gosling, not wife Eva Mendes, to the annual awards show, where his movie La La Land won six awards.
Gosling and his sister appeared to have a great time throughout the event, according to E! News. The pair were spotted dancing to Justin Timberlake's song "Can't Stop the Feeling" from Trolls, which lost to "City of Stars" from La La Land for Best Original Song.
La La Land also took home Best Director for Damien Chazelle, Best Actress for Emma Stone, Best Original Score, Best Production Design and Best Cinematography. Gosling was nominated for Best Actor, but lost to Casey Affleck for Manchester by the Sea.
"Ryan Gosling, thank you for making me laugh and for always raising the bar and for being the greatest partner on this crazy adventure," Stone said during her acceptance speech.
Gosling, Stone and the rest of the audience were later shocked when La La Land was mistakenly announced as the winner of Best Picture. PricewaterhouseCoopers, the accounting firm that oversees the Oscars ballot-counting process, apologized for the blunder Monday.
"We sincerely apologize ... for the error that was made during the awards announcement for Best Picture," the company said in a statement.
Gosling and Mendes have been together since 2011, and share 2-year-old daughter Esmeralda and 9-month-old daughter Amada. The actor called Mendes his "lady" and "sweetheart" during his Golden Globes acceptance speech in January.
