Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Katie Holmes spent some quality time with her daughter during an amusement park outing Sunday.
The 38-year-old actress treated Suri Cruise, her 10-year-old daughter with ex-husband Tom Cruise, and two of her nephews to a day of fun at Pacific Park in Santa Monica, Calif.
Holmes shared a series of photos on Instagram from the trip, including a picture of Suri and her nephews walking along the beach. She also posted a snapshot of the park's Pacific Plunge ride.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! #stomachdrop #sundayfunday #family #love #blessed #gratitude," she wrote.
The Dawson's Creek alum grew up in Toledo, Ohio, with four siblings, Tamera, Holly Ann, Martin and Nancy. Sources told The Daily Beast in 2012 that the actress strives for Suri to have a conventional upbringing.
"Katie saw all of her nieces and nephews going to school and having normal childhoods and she realized she wanted her daughter to have a normal childhood as well," an insider said.
Holmes split from Cruise in 2012 after five years of marriage, and has since been linked to actor Jamie Foxx. She told Entertainment Tonight in October that Suri inspired her directorial debut, All We Had.
"She gets a special thanks for everything, [for] every job I do, because she makes every day great and awesome and better," the star gushed. "I know myself better because of her."
All We Had is based on the Annie Weatherwax novel of the same name, and opened in theaters in December. Holmes will reprise Jacqueline Kennedy in the Reelz miniseries The Kennedys: After Camelot, and cameo in the movie Ocean's Eight.
