Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Ryan Gosling's wax figure appears to have missed the mark for fans.

Madame Tussauds unveiled a wax statue of the 36-year-old American actor Monday in Berlin that fans roundly criticized on social media.

"He looks like the evil twin of himself, ten years from now," one person wrote.

"Looks like @RyanReynolds and @RyanGosling had an adult wax baby. #Ryansquared," another declared.

The wax figure features Gosling in a simple button down shirt and pants. Madame Tussauds announced on its website that the statue is the first to feature a tangible "heartbeat."

"Through a special technique, you are able to feel the heartbeat of Hollywood star Ryan Gosling. This gives a more life-like feeling when you are in touch with him," the company said.

Madame Tussauds unveiled a different wax figure of Gosling in London in 2014. The figure features the actor in a navy suit, and has a noticeably fuller face.

Gosling most recently starred in the musical drama La La Land with Emma Stone. The movie won seven Golden Globe awards this month, and is nominated for 14 Academy Awards, including Best Actor for Gosling.
