J.K. Rowling has four, little words to say regarding rumors that a movie franchise is in the works based on the two-part play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. "This. Is. Not. True." the writer tweeted Friday, along with a screenshot of an article trumpeting the news.

"I know a lot of people are looking for reasons to be cheerful today, but there is NO TRUTH to the rumour about a #CursedChild movie trilogy!" another post from the Potter creator insisted.

The Sun newspaper and other media outlets quoted a journalist as saying on a podcast that Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint -- the stars of the original eight Harry Potter movie adaptations of Rowling's novels -- are in talks to reprise their roles of Harry, Hermione and Ron in a new trilogy, which would be set about 20 years after the events of the last Harry Potter movie, Deathly Hallows, Part 2, released in 2011.
