Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Anne Hathaway is connected to a giant, city crushing monster in the first trailer for upcoming action-comedy, Colossal.

Unable to fight her weird feeling, Gloria learns that she can control the beast and his movements while viewing the live-footage of the attack being broadcast on the news.

Wanting to display her powers to her friends, Gloria has the monster dance much to the surprise of Jason Sudeikis who joins Hathaway in the film.

"A woman discovers that severe catastrophic events are somehow connected to the mental breakdown from which she's suffering," reads the official synopsis.

Directed by Nacho Vigalondo and also starring Dan Stevens, Colossal arrives in theaters April 7.
