NEW YORK, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Actress Katherine Waterston recently opened up at Fox's 2017 movie preview in New York about what attracted her to her role in the new sci-fi horror movie Alien: Covenant. "I don't think anyone ever has to convince any actor to work with [director] Ridley Scott, or to be a part of something like this," the actress explained.

"I've heard actors say this all of the time, and they say it all of the time because it's true: we do find ourselves attracted to the things that we don't think we can do," she added. "I'm always looking for new challenges, and, maybe, even on some level, I'm addicted to that horrible dread that you feel at the beginning of a project where you are not sure if you will have what it takes to, you know, pull it off, yeah."
Starring Michael Fassbender, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England and Benjamin Rigby, the sequel to 2012's Prometheus is set for release on May 19.
"The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape," said a press release accompanying the movie's red-band trailer when it was released late last month.
