BURBANK, Calif., Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Warner Bros. says Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons and Connie Nielsen will reprise their various DC Extended Universe roles in next fall's eagerly awaited Justice League movie.
The casting was confirmed Thursday in the studio's 2017 media preview.
Directed by Zack Snyder, the superhero ensemble picture is set for release Nov. 17. It will star Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman and Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice veterans Eisenberg and Irons will return as Superman foe Lex Luthor and Wayne's butler Alfred, while Man of Steel and BVS alum Lane will once again portray Kent's foster mom Martha and Nielsen will play Queen Hippolyta -- a key character in the upcoming Wonder Woman standalone movie.
"Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy," a synopsis explained. "Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of meta-humans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes -- Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash -- it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions."
Production on the blockbuster-to-be wrapped in October.
