LOS ANGELES, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- The Lost City of Z released a first teaser starring Charlie Hunnam and Robert Pattinson on Thursday.

The preview sees Colonel Percy Fawcett (Hunnam) search for a legendary city in the rainforests of Brazil with his aide de camp, Corporal Henry Costin (Pattinson) and son, Jack (Tom Holland).

The Lost City of Z is based on the David Grann book of the same name, which tells the story of Fawcett, a real-life British explorer. James Grey (The Immigrant) directed the adaptation, which co-stars Sienna Miller as Fawcett's wife, Nina.

"One of the things that [James] and I felt strongly that we wanted to explore in the film was the conflict between family life and the exterior demands that are made on us and the social and economic demands that we all need to deal with in life," Hunnam recently told Entertainment Weekly.

"Being balanced or in conflict with the internal drive, to be the people we want to be and achieve the things that we want to achieve," he elaborated.

The Lost City of Z opens in theaters April 21, 2017.
