LOS ANGELES, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Illumination has released a 2 1/2-minute trailer for its upcoming, animated movie Despicable Me 3.

The clip, which was posted on social media Wednesday, introduces a new villain -- Balthazar Bratt, "a former child star who's grown up to become obsessed with the character he played in the '80s, and proves to be Gru's most formidable nemesis to date," a synopsis said.

The video shows Bratt moon-walking a la Michael Jackson and wearing a Jackson-inspired jumpsuit, while the late pop star's hit "Bad" plays in the background. Bratt is also seen boarding a ship, armed with bubble gum and a Rubik's cube, intent on a high-seas jewel heist. The character is voiced by Trey Parker, co-creator of the TV show South Park and the Broadway musical The Book of Morman.

The Despicable Me 3 trailer also features reformed bad guy Gru -- voiced by Steve Carell -- and his wife Lucy -- voiced by Kristen Wiig -- attempting to thwart Bratt's plot.

The movie will be released in theaters on June 30.
