Patrick Wilson cast in 'Aquaman' as villain Ocean Master

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- Patrick Wilson has joined the cast of Warner Bros. upcoming DC Comics epic, Aquaman.

According to Variety, the actor will portray Aquaman's half-brother Orm, also known as the villainous Ocean Master who challenges the hero for the throne of Atlantis.

Wilson will be joining Jason Momoa in the titular role alongside Amber Heard who will play Aquaman's love interest, undersea queen Mera.

The film marks the fifth time Wilson will be teaming up with director James Wan having already starred in the filmmaker's horror films Insidious and The Conjuring along with their sequels.

Aquaman was recently given an official release date of Oct. 5, 2018.

Before then, Momoa is set to appear as the character in Justice League, following his cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
