LOS ANGELES, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Brad Pitt returned to the red carpet Wednesday for the first time since his split from Angelina Jolie. The 52-year-old actor attended the Los Angeles premiere of Allied at the Regency Village Theatre in Westwood with co-star Marion Cotillard and director Robert Zemeckis.

Pitt was all smiles in a dark suit as he posed for photos and chatted with fans. He answered questions about the film and thanked fans for their support in a Facebook Live Q&A.
"It's really sweet, everyone has been really kind out here. It's really nice to have the support," he said.
USA Today reported prior to the premiere that Pitt has been cleared of child abuse allegations. The Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services was investigating an incident between the actor and his son Maddox that took place in front of Jolie.
"The job of the DCFS is to make sure the children are in a safe and secure situation," the actress' rep said in a statement.
"Angelina said from the beginning that she felt she had to take action for the health of the family and is relieved that after their eight-week involvement, the DCFS is now satisfied the safeguards are put in place that will allow the children to heal," the spokesperson added.
Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September after two years of marriage and a decade together. The couple share five other children in addition to Maddox, and reportedly reached a new custody agreement this week.
Allied opens in theaters Nov. 23. Pitt will also star in David Michod's adaptation of the Michael Hastings book War Machine with Tilda Swinton and in World War Z 2.
