LOS ANGELES, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard star in a tense new Allied teaser.

The WWII drama released an official poster and new TV spot trailer featuring the 52-year-old American actor and 41-year-old French actress as married assassins Monday.

The preview sees officials confront intelligence officer Max Vatan (Pitt) with their suspicions that his wife (Cotillard) is a German spy. Vatan, who refuses to believe the notion, is ordered to execute his wife if the suspicions prove true.

Allied is written by Steven Knight (Eastern Promises, Peaky Blinders) and directed by Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump). The movie co-stars Jared Harris, Simon McBurney and Lizzy Caplan.

"Brad and Marion immediately had the utmost respect for each other, so once they delved into their character, their chemistry was electric," producer Graham King told People magazine in August.

"It was crucial for Brad and Marion to not only begin rehearsing together before the shoot, but they also spent a lot of time developing their characters with the director," he added.

Allied opens in theaters Nov. 23. Pitt will also star in War Machine with Tilda Swinton and World War Z 2, while Cotillard is slated for Assassin's Creed with Michael Fassbender and Ismael's Ghosts with Charlotte Gainsbourg.
