NEW YORK, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Daniel Craig is now more open to reprising his role as James Bond after initially discussing how he wanted to leave the franchise behind.

"They say that [expletive] sticks, and that definitely stuck," the actor said of his original comments Friday during the New Yorker Festival according to Vulture.

"It was the day after filming [stopped on Spectre]. I'd been away from home for a year," he continued about the reasoning behind his 2015 comments which involved Craig expressing how he would rather "slash his wrists" than make another 007 film.

"Boo-hoo. It's a good gig. I enjoy it."

Craig also detailed how he would be open to reprising his role as the iconic British spy for multiple projects. "As far as I'm concerned, I've got the best job in the world. I'll keep doing it as long as I still get a kick out of it," he said. "If I were to stop doing it, I would miss it terribly."

Before the 48-year-old's new willingness to star as Bond again, a crop of actors including Jamie Bell, Tom Hiddleston, Damian Lewis and Idris Elba were rumored to take over the role in Craig's place.
