TORONTO, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- The Grolsch People's Choice Award was presented to writer-director Damien Chazelle's La La Land at the Toronto International Film Festival Sunday.
Set in contemporary Los Angeles and starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, the movie musical follows "Mia, an aspiring actress, and Sebastian, a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for destroying hopes and breaking hearts," a press release noted.
