SAN DIEGO, July 24 (UPI) -- Lupita Nyong'o and Danai Gurira -- who collaborated on the celebrated Broadway play Eclipsed -- will work together again on Marvel's Black Panther.
The actresses will play the respective roles of Nakia and Okoye, it was announced this weekend at San Diego Comic-Con. Nyong'o previously starred in Eclipsed, which Gurira wrote.
N'yongo won an Oscar for her work in 12 Years a Slave and Gurira is best-known as fan-favorite Michonne on The Walking Dead.
Chadwick Boseman is to play the titular superhero in Black Panther, which is being helmed by Ryan Coogler. Boseman first introduced this character in Captain America: Civil War.
Michael B. Jordan will play Erik Killmonger in Black Panther, reuniting him with Coogler, who directed him in Creed.
