LOS ANGELES, June 5 (UPI) -- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows opened in North American theaters at No. 1 with $35.3 million in receipts, BoxOfficeMojo.com announced Sunday.
The live-action and animated hybrid starred Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Stephen Amell and Tyler Perry.
Coming in at No. 2 at the weekend box office was X-Men: Apocalypse with $22.3 million, followed by Me Before You with $18.3 million, Alice Through the Looking Glass at No. 4 with $10.7 million and The Angry Birds Movie at No. 5 with $9.8 million.
Rounding out the top tier are Captain America: Civil War at No. 6 with $7.6 million, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising at No. 7 with $4.7 million, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping at No. 8 with $4.6 million, The Jungle Book at No. 9 with $4.2 million and The Nice Guys at No. 10 with $3.5 million.
