T.J. Miller joins cast of Steven Spielberg's 'Ready Player One'

LOS ANGELES, June 2 (UPI) -- T.J. Miller has been cast in director Steven Spielberg's upcoming film adaptation of Ready Player One.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor joins the cast as production on the sci-fi thriller based on the Ernest Cline novel of the same name ramps up in June.

Miller, known for portraying Erlich Bachman on HBO's Silicon Valley, will be joined by Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Simon Pegg, Ben Mendelsohn and Mark Rylance.

Set in a dystopian future, Ready Player One revolves around a teenager (Sheridan) who finds himself competing against others in a high stakes treasure hunt inside a virtual world. Miller is set to portray a message board troll who goes by i-R0K.

Miller was last seen on the big-screen alongside Ryan Reynolds in comic book hit Deadpool.

Warner Bros. has plotted Ready Player One to release on March 30, 2018.
