LOS ANGELES, May 20 (UPI) -- Sia gave a live performance of her "Unforgettable" cover for Finding Dory on Friday.

The 40-year-old Australian singer, who recorded a rendition of the Nat King Cole classic for the film, performed her version for the first time on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

"Dory's story makes me teary," Sia said before DeGeneres added, "Dory's story makes a lot of people teary. It's really beautiful and when you see it and then you hear it, it makes even more sense. It's gorgeous."

Sia's cover will serve as the movie's theme song and play over the end credits. DeGeneres, who voiced Dory in the 2003 film Finding Nemo, reprised the character for the forthcoming sequel/spinoff.

"It was a great experience the first time around," DeGeneres recently told Entertainment Weekly. "It was a huge compliment and honor that somebody thought of me specifically for that part, and my voice in their heads. That will always mean something to me."

"She's funny, but she's obviously very relatable, which is why people like Dory so much," she added. "She's trying to find her family and she is very emotional about wanting to belong, and I think that is easy for anybody to relate to."

Sia released her seventh studio album, This is Acting, in January, which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. The singer will kick off her Nostalgic for the Present tour Sept. 29 in Seattle, Wash., with Miguel and Aluna George.
