Margot Robbie to play Harley Quinn in a standalone movie

LOS ANGELES, May 16 (UPI) -- Margot Robbie is to reprise her role as Suicide Squad vixen Harley Quinn in a standalone movie.

Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment are hammering out the details for the female-led project, which would also include appearances by Batgirl and Birds of Prey, Variety reported Monday.

Casting for the other characters in the proposed picture has not been revealed yet.

The star-studded Suicide Squad will also feature Jared Leto and Will Smith. It is due in theaters in August.
