LOS ANGELES, May 12 (UPI) -- Michael Fassbender travels back in time in the first trailer for 20th Century Fox's upcoming video game adaptation, Assassin's Creed.

Donning the series signature hooded armor and hidden wrist blades, the footage faithfully recreates the game's epic battles and high-flying Parkour stunts as Fassbender is seen taking an ariel dive off the top of a monument.

Ubisoft released the first poster for the film Wednesday on Twitter which featured the stunning leap of a faith. "Check out the official poster for @AssassinsMovie," the publisher wrote.

Directed by Justin Kurzel and also starring Marion Cotillard who collaborated with Fassbender on Macbeth, this cinematic version of Assassin's Creed will not directly adapt any of the existing storylines from the video games.
