The theatrical show -- and its planned film adaptation -- features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It is based on T.S. Eliot's poetry volume Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. A revival of the stage musical is scheduled to open in New York this summer.

Hooper's previous films include the lauded The Danish Girl, The King's Speech and Les Miserables.
